Who is it best for?

Glo is a fitness app that focuses on wellness in the form of yoga, Pilates, guided meditations, and other similar activities. The classes are all-inclusive with options for all skill levels. Glo is a worthwhile fitness app for anyone looking to try something new.

According to the descriptions in the Google Play Store and the App Store, “Glo is an online yoga, meditation, Pilates, and fitness app designed to help you feel better in body and mind daily. Practice at home or on the go with the world’s best teachers. With classes for every life stage, level, and need, we’ll help you create a practice that’s your own.”

Glo offers countless classes and meditations and a completely customizable experience. Glo could be a good fit for anyone at any skill level who’s looking to have an extensive library of wellness activities at their fingertips.

Depending on where you live, the subscription cost can be higher than a gym or rec center membership. It’s comparable to something like ClassPass (but limited in the range of classes), and more affordable than memberships at similarly structured yoga/pilates studios.

That said, keeping up with a fitness app takes a lot of motivation, arguably more than the motivation required to attend in-person classes. If fitness apps work for you, your lifestyle, and your space, Glo might be a great option to consider, especially if you’re interested in the available wellness classes.

Features

During the setup phase, you can customize your experience by selecting what you want to focus on (energy, strength, sleep, focus, productivity, calm, or flexibility). You can choose what type of teacher you’re looking for (playful, non-traditional, informative, or motivating). And you can describe your experience with yoga and pilates so Glo can properly curate and customize your experience.

After setup, the For You feed has curated class suggestions, a feed of upcoming live classes, daily meditations, and the ability to filter by time (10, 15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes) to find what you need whenever you need it.

The live classes tab gives you a schedule of upcoming live classes you can sign up for.

The search function has a few options. You can type something in to get started, customize different categories (duration, level, intensity, style, and more), or select from an array of pre-sorted options (like Start your Morning, Improve Sleep, Find Relaxation, and Learn to Meditate).

Finally, the library tab shows you a history of classes you’ve taken, favorites if you’ve marked any, your upcoming schedule, ongoing programs, favorite teachers, collections curated by you, downloads, and your app settings.

Everything in the Glo app is straightforward and can be effective if you put your mind to it.

The Bottom Line

Glo is a solid app aside from the pricing/subscription situation, especially for people looking for a specialized fitness app that focuses on wellness, yoga, pilates, and meditation. Glo is at least worth the free trial for people who are motivated and determined enough to maintain regularity with app workouts. You can decide from there whether it’s the right fit for you.
